How to Conquer your Financial New Year’s Resolutions
2020 has arrived and with that we enter a new decade with new goals and new priorities. Now like some of us, your New Year’s resolution may be the same each year. If this is the case, it turns out that this year you might actually accomplish it. While research studies show that half of resolvers don’t make it past week two, the good news is that half do!
Popular Financial Resolutions Goals for 2020:
- Pay Off Debt
- Stick to a Budget
- Add a Month to Your Emergency Fund
- Find a Better Job
- Add 20 Points to Your Credit Score
Learn how to help make your resolution stick in 2020:
Evaluate Last Year’s Mistakes: A new year is a great time for self-reflection and fresh beginnings. While not every financial downfall is avoidable, some can be limited or bypassed going forward. By reviewing your financial mistakes, you can commit to a better 2020.
Redefine that goal to be SMART! Your goal should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. It’s important to be rational when making your resolutions to help keep yourself motivated throughout the year to conquer them.
Focus on ONE Financial Goal at a time. Before you can make progress towards any of your goals, identify what they are and prioritize them. It can be helpful to set up a support system of smaller realistic goals that can help you towards achieving your larger goals.
Remember that you don’t have to do everything at once! You should be cautious about setting too many or unrealistic goals. Consider contacting Partnership Wealth Management to help review the goals and objectives you have established for the new year.
Happy New Year!
